ALL ABOUT ALBACORE:

The American Fishermen's Research Foundation (AFRF), in conjunction with the Western Fishboat Owners Association (WFOA) has made available a wealth of information on the health and sustainabilty of troll-caught albacore tuna and the albacore fishery. Other involved organizations include the United States Tuna Foundation, the Oregon Albacore Commission, many Custom Canners, Value-Added suppliers, West Coast albacore buyers, and other AFRF supporters.

Dr. Joyce Nettleton, a registered dietician, was retained by the AFRF for educational projects, and some of her work and other AFRF information includes these PDF files:

    • AFRF also has a supply of Troll-Caught Albacore processed by Tri-Marine International that is distributed for public education to politicians, educators, and others a can at a time. The label for this supply of albacore is HERE.
